The National Cybersecurity Coordination Committee (NCCC) recently participated in a two-day “Mobile for Good” workshop held on La Digue. The event brought together S4 students for a series of engaging, hands-on sessions focused on the responsible, creative, and effective use of mobile and digital tools.
The workshop featured interactive, student-centered activities designed to promote learning through fun, structured, and thought-provoking exercises. It aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of digital safety while inspiring them to use technology positively and responsibly.
To ensure effective engagement, the training was divided into three groups, each receiving the same content and practical exercises.
The sessions covered key topics such as:
Password Security – Creating and testing strong passwords.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) – Securing social media and online accounts.
Phishing and Malicious Content – Identifying unsafe links, fake websites, and phishing attempts.
QR Code Awareness – Differentiating between genuine and malicious QR codes.
Digital Footprint – Understanding how online actions can have lasting consequences.
Mobile Application Safety – Reviewing app permissions and protecting personal data.
Reporting Fake Accounts – How to identify and report impersonation or fake profiles.
Cyberbullying and Online Etiquette – Encouraging respectful and responsible online interactions.
The NCCC, represented by Mr. Jean-Claude Thelermont, played an active role in supporting and delivering the sessions, which sought to bring innovation closer to La Digue and highlight the island as an ideal location for youth-centered digital literacy initiatives.
The workshop successfully equipped participants with the knowledge and confidence to navigate the digital world safely, creatively, and responsibly.
